Lesson Terms & Conditions

1.1 These Terms & Conditions apply to all driving lessons, intensive courses, practical driving tests, online lesson credit, prepaid lesson credit, block bookings, gift vouchers, and all other services provided by NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD ("the Driving School").

1.2 By booking lessons, making payment, purchasing lesson credit or gift vouchers, or attending lessons with NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD, the pupil confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions in full.

1.3 NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD operates in accordance with Isle of Man road traffic legislation and relevant driving test authority guidance.

2.1 All lessons are subject to instructor and vehicle availability.

2.2 Payment must be made before the lesson unless otherwise agreed in writing by NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD.

2.3 Lessons may be purchased individually or through prepaid lesson credit, block bookings, intensive courses, or gift vouchers.

2.4 Scheduled lesson times are allocated within the instructor's working timetable and include reasonable allowances for vehicle positioning, collection and drop-off, refuelling, administration, operational travel, and scheduling requirements.

2.5 Where home, workplace, school, or other agreed collection and drop-off locations require additional travel time, the scheduled lesson period may include reasonable allowances for collection, drop-off, vehicle positioning, and operational travel. In such circumstances, practical driving tuition may conclude by up to 10-15 minutes before the scheduled finish time where reasonably necessary.

2.6 If a pupil arrives late for a lesson, the lesson will still finish at the originally scheduled time unless otherwise agreed.

2.7 If a lesson is shortened due to instructor delay or fault, the missed tuition time will be rearranged or credited where appropriate.

2.8 Lesson prices, block booking prices, and all other fees may be amended at any time without prior notice. Any prepaid lesson credit purchased before a price change will retain its value until its expiry date.

3.1 A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to cancel or amend any booked lesson.

3.2 Lessons cancelled or amended with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged at the full lesson fee.

3.3 Failure to attend a booked lesson without notice ("no-show") will result in the full lesson fee being charged.

3.4 Cancellation or amendment requests must be made directly to NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD using the agreed communication method, including telephone, text message, email, or messaging application.

3.5 Illness, work commitments, transport issues, forgotten bookings, or personal circumstances do not automatically waive the cancellation policy.

3.6 Repeated short-notice cancellations or non-attendance may result in future bookings being refused.

3.7 If a pupil is not ready to begin the lesson at the agreed collection time, the instructor will wait for a maximum of 10 minutes. After this period the lesson may be treated as a late cancellation and charged in full.

4.1 All prepaid lesson credit, block bookings, intensive courses, and gift vouchers are non-refundable and non-transferable unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4.2 Lesson credit and gift vouchers are valid for six (6) months from the date of purchase unless otherwise stated in writing.

4.3 Any unused lesson credit remaining after its expiry date will be forfeited.

4.4 Lesson credit, block bookings, and gift vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash or extended beyond their expiry date.

4.5 NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD accepts no responsibility for lost, stolen, deleted, damaged, or unauthorised use of vouchers or lesson credit.

4.6 Where refunds are exceptionally approved, NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD reserves the right to deduct lessons already completed at the standard lesson rate, administrative and payment processing costs, and any promotional, discounted, or introductory pricing previously applied.

4.7 Any approved refund will normally be processed using the original payment method within 14 days.

5.1 NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD reserves the right to amend, postpone, or cancel lessons due to illness, vehicle issues, mechanical breakdown, adverse weather, road conditions, emergencies, or any other unforeseen circumstances.

5.2 Where reasonably possible, notice will be given and the lesson will be rearranged or credited.

5.3 NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD shall not be liable for any indirect loss, consequential loss, missed appointments, loss of earnings, travel expenses, or additional costs arising from lesson cancellation or amendment.

5.4 NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD shall not be liable for any loss, expense, or inconvenience resulting from vehicle breakdown or mechanical failure occurring despite reasonable maintenance.

6.1 Use of an NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD vehicle for a practical driving test is entirely at the instructor's discretion.

6.2 A vehicle will only be provided where, in the instructor's professional opinion, the pupil has reached a safe and suitable driving standard.

6.3 The instructor's decision regarding use of the vehicle for a practical test shall be final.

6.4 NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD reserves the right to refuse use of its vehicle where a pupil is considered unsafe, unprepared, medically unfit, or otherwise unsuitable to undertake the test.

6.5 Practical driving test fees payable to the Isle of Man driving test authority remain the sole responsibility of the pupil.

6.6 Lessons booked for practical driving tests include travel to the test centre, waiting time during the test, and the return journey where applicable.

7.1 Pupils must hold a valid Isle of Man provisional driving licence, produce their licence upon request, be medically and legally fit to drive, and wear any legally required corrective lenses whilst driving.

7.2 Pupils must immediately inform the instructor of any medical condition, injury, medication, or legal restriction that may affect their ability to drive safely.

7.3 Lessons may be terminated immediately and without refund where a pupil is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, displays abusive, threatening, aggressive, discriminatory, or unsafe behaviour, refuses to follow reasonable instructor directions, or uses a mobile phone unlawfully whilst driving.

8.1 The instructor may end a lesson immediately where the pupil's behaviour or driving presents a safety risk.

8.2 No refund or replacement lesson time will be provided where lessons are terminated due to safety or conduct concerns.

8.3 Seat belts must be worn at all times unless legally exempt.

8.4 Smoking, vaping, or consumption of illegal substances is strictly prohibited in NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD vehicles.

8.5 NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or permanently terminate tuition where continuing instruction is considered unsafe, inappropriate, or not in the legitimate interests of the Driving School.

9.1 All vehicles operated by NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD are maintained to a high professional standard and must be treated with reasonable care.

9.2 Damage caused through negligence, wilful misuse, reckless behaviour, or failure to follow instructor directions may become the financial responsibility of the pupil where such negligence or misuse can be reasonably demonstrated.

9.3 This includes, but is not limited to, damage to tyres, wheels, alloys, suspension, steering components, clutch, gearbox, transmission, bodywork, underbody, interior damage beyond normal wear and tear, or damage resulting from avoidable impact with kerbs, objects, or road hazards.

9.4 NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD reserves the right to recover the cost of repair or replacement, vehicle recovery costs, associated downtime costs, and loss of earnings where reasonably incurred.

9.5 Normal wear and tear arising from properly supervised driving tuition remains the responsibility of NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD.

10.1 NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD maintains appropriate motor insurance and instructor insurance as required by law.

10.2 NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD accepts no liability for driving test outcomes, test cancellations or delays, third-party actions, traffic conditions, mechanical failures outside its reasonable control, or circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

10.3 Pupils remain legally responsible for any fines, penalties, offences, or fixed penalties committed during lessons where applicable by law.

11.1 Vehicles operated by NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD may be fitted with dashcams for safety, insurance, security, training, and incident investigation purposes.

11.2 Recordings may be retained and disclosed where required by law, insurers, legal advisers, or relevant authorities.

12.1 Personal information is handled in accordance with Isle of Man data protection legislation.

12.2 Personal information will only be used for lesson administration, communication, insurance requirements, legal or regulatory obligations, and business record keeping.

12.3 By booking lessons, pupils consent to being contacted by telephone, text message, email, or messaging applications regarding lessons and Driving School services.

13.1 NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD is committed to providing its services fairly, professionally, and without unlawful discrimination.

14.1 NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD shall not be liable for any failure or delay in providing services where prevented by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, flooding, road closures, government restrictions, pandemics, industrial action, natural disasters, vehicle breakdown, or other unforeseen events.

15.1 NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.

15.2 The latest version of these Terms & Conditions shall apply and will be made available upon request or via official NSB DRIVER TRAINING LTD platforms.

16.1 If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found by a court or competent authority to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

17.1 These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Isle of Man.

17.2 Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms & Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Isle of Man courts.
